The other day, Allison Burton was at home in Canada when she spotted a large furry figure strutting casually down her street. At first, she thought it was a dog.
But then Burton took a closer look.
Turns out, it was actually a lynx — showing off her gloriously fluffy self for all the world to see.
“I have never seen one in real life, ever,” Burton told The Dodo. “I was so excited and in awe just to see this beautiful creature walking so close.”
Burton ran to grab her camera — and it’s a good thing that she did.
The lynx was in no hurry as she made her way peacefully down the road, allowing Burton to capture these stunning photos.
Others stopped to watch her as well, but the beautiful wild cat didn’t let all the attention go to her head.
“It was just so majestic and happy to be in its own little world, doing its own thing,” Burton said. “The local people are in the same feeling — just love seeing these beautiful animals.”
Eventually, the lynx made her way out of sight, disappearing again into the wild that she’s so perfectly adapted for. Though her appearance that day was brief, it’s something Burton won’t soon forget.
“Can’t believe this beautiful kitty just walked past my house,” she wrote.
