Someone walked into the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region (HSPPR) in December to surrender a cat, which isn’t unusual — except the cat in question weighed roughly 30 pounds.
his name is disco
Disco is a white, fluffy, and plump cat. He’s a lot heavier than he should be for a cat his size, and the shelter realized right away that they’d have to assist him in losing weight.
“Disco gained 30 pounds because he was free-fed in his prior home, and evidently he lacks self-control,” said Cody Costra, a public relations, and content expert at the HSPPR.
Despite his size, everyone at the shelter could see that Disco was a very happy cat who had no problem fitting into his new surroundings almost immediately.
Costra described Disco as “the kindest cat you could possibly imagine.” “He’s a gigantic love bug who has been kind to every member of the staff who has come into contact with him, and he likes to purr for attention, lean in for petting, and offer gentle blinks.”
Disco is present with a foster family that can assist him in his hunt for his forever home, and the shelter wants to help him get a little healthier before he starts looking for his permanent home. It shouldn’t be too difficult to locate the appropriate home for Disco once he’s ready.
He adores children, dogs, and other cats, as well as people in general. The only thing he’ll absolutely require is a family that is willing to stick to a treatment plan in order to keep him healthy.
When everyone at the shelter first saw Disco, they had no idea what a joy he would turn out to be. They’re all so excited to get him healthy and find him the perfect forever home once he’s ready.
