A cyclist captured the dramatic moment he saved a puppy’s life using a plastic bottle as a makeshift ventilator on his helmet cam.
Hoang Minh had dragged the tiny dog’s lifeless body from the water after spotting it floating in a river.
The 21-year-old fished out the tiny dog and realised from its warm body temperature that it still had a chance at life.
Filming on his helmet camera, in southern Vietnam, he first rubbed the pup and wiped its face to clear any obstructions to its breathing.
He opened its mouth and made sure it had not swallowed its tongue and then improvised a device to breathe into the dogs lungs by cutting the bottom off a plastic water bottle.

cut-off end over the puppy’s head, he then breathed into the neck of the bottle.
By this time the puppy was showing some signs of life and began to make little whining noises.
As Hoang looks around a couple of times during the video, an angler can be seen continuing to fish seemingly indifferent to the life-and-death struggle going on beside him
After reviving the puppy, Hoang wrapped it in a piece of cloth to keep it warm.

But he admitted to Vietnamese media that he did not know the proper life saving procedure and just improvised without thinking.
He said: “After taking the puppy from the water, I was very confused and just did what I did without thinking.
“I didn’t actually know the proper paramedic procedure.”
It was not clear what happened to the puppy after he rescued it.
