Golden retrievers are one of the most popular breeds of dogs, according to the AKC. They top the most favorite list for a good reason. Not only are they cuddly and adorable, they make excellent companions and the best furry friends.
Because of this, it’s no surprise that Brooke Nicole had her heart set on owning one. She adored the breed and for six long years, she begged her boyfriend to get a dog together. In her words:
Brooke revealed to ‘The Goldens Club.com’ exclusively: “My boyfriend and I have been together for 6 years. And throughout those years, I’ve BEGGED him to get us a dog together. He didn’t understand how much I was willing to give to have a dog, now he totally does.”
Finally, after lots of persuading, her boyfriend finally conceded and they decided to get a puppy. After shedding tears of joy, Brooke began her search for the perfect puppy. She said:
After several months of searching, with Christmas on the horizon, Brookes finally found a breeder who had golden puppies available. When the big day came to choose the pup, Brooke had to work so she trusted her boyfriend to pick the perfect puppy. She said:
They brought the best Christmas present home and named the adorable pup, Banks. Brooke instantly fell in love with the little guy and was thrilled with her boyfriend’s choice. As fate would have it, it turned out that they got Banks just in time. It wasn’t long before the pandemic hit and shut everything down. Brooke now found herself with lots of time at home, which was the perfect bonding and training opportunity for her and the new puppy!
Brooke said, “During his prime puppy stages, we were all quarantined due to covid so I had just been furloughed from my job. I was high-key so happy to spend even more time with Banks.”During that time, Brooke seized every opportunity to spend time with Banks. She taught him lots of tricks and he filled her days with happiness and of course, Bank’s over-the-top cuteness.
“This meant more time for training, too! We worked on his tricks, his manners, and lots and lots of play time and love! I don’t know what I would have done without Banks during quarantine/COVID craziness. He DEFINITELY kept me busy. Fun fact, he is bell trained! Whenever he has to go potty, he will ring the bell to let me know hes gotta go!”
