A cat that was hurled over a fence and into the window of a Queensland house has made a full recovery and is looking for a new home, three months after the violent ordeal.
The feline, named Marcello, has finally regained his health despite 27 trips to the vet, three bouts of stress-induced cat flu, bruising and the loss of an eye all linked to the shocking incident.
Samuel Conroy, 19, pleaded guilty to forcefully throwing the animal into a wall at a house in Ipswich in March.
He was then sentenced to 12 months’ probation, 120 hours of community service, banned from owning a pet for five years and ordered to pay $1100.
In a video of the incident which was posted to social media, Marcello could be seen in the hands of Conroy before the cat is hurtled over a fence, slamming into the brick wall of a house next door.
Conroy then covered his mouth with his hand while he laughed uncontrollably.
The teenager publicly apologised earlier this year for his actions in the video, saying the incident occurred at a property he was house-sitting.
