A baby kitten was tied up into a rubbish bag and thrown over an embankment in a vacant lot, sparking a police investigation.
The little animal was found last Tuesday near Wentworth Park in inner Sydney.
About 5.30 that evening, a passerby heard the kitten crying for help, and took the animal to a nearby vet for treatment.
The kitten has since made a full recovery.
Police were notified yesterday and have started an investigation.
Officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward, along with people who might have dashcam or CCTV footage in that area at that time.
