Kitten Found on Side of Road Hours After Birth, Now Thriving!

This tiny fur baby was found on the side of the road with the umbilical cord still attached. When they heard her faint cries, they knew there was hope.

Sherry Gilstrap shares the story with Love Meow:

My daughter was over at a friends house, when she heard cries coming from the bushes on the side of the road. She went towards the cries but at first didn’t see anything. As she started to walk away she heard the small cry again.

My daughter got down on her knees and crawled through the bushes that were filled with thorns. At the very back there was this tiny new born kitten all by herself with no mother cat around.

She got the kitten, who was cold and damp from the bushes being located in a ditch and the previous rain we had earlier that day, she wrapped her in an old T-shirt and brought her home to me.

We got her a warm box filled with towels and a soft old robe of my daughter’s to keep her warm, purchased a bottle and milk and fed her every 2 hours.

The next day, we took her to the vet and found out she was only a few hours old when she was found and the only thing wrong with her was one paw was slightly larger than the others and she’s missing a toe on that paw. With that being said, the vet believes the mother cat abandoned her because of her having this and plus being so small.
