Dog Blinded Through Suspected Dogfighting Yearns For Cuddle Buddy & Loving

A blind dog chained outside with only a broken-down doghouse for shelter was among the 108 dogs rescued last November from Michigan’s largest suspected dogfighting operation.

Bark Nation, an animal welfare organization based in Detroit with a mission to end dogfighting and save lives, rescued all of the dogs with the assistance of federal and state law enforcement.

The dogs were examined by a veterinarian, who determined that the sweet boy, who was clearly blind, had most likely lost his eyesight as a result of dogfighting trauma.

“We can’t imagine how traumatic it must have been for him to live outside, exposed to the elements, and completely blind,” Jessica Brown, Director of Operations at Bark Nation, explained.

His name was “Turkey Jerky Snack” (also known as the KING), and he quickly won the hearts of the staff and volunteers.

Turkey is getting used to her new life in a shelter, but she longs for a forever home. He’s put his traumatic past behind him and is ready to love someone unconditionally. Getting around a new place can be difficult and frightening when you can’t see, so Turkey has his own special wagon that he uses every day to go outside.

He’s looking for someone to cuddle with, so all movie and TV fans should apply. This sweetheart requires a loving home and a comfortable couch to curl up on. He’s completely deafeningly deafeningly deafeningly deafeningly deafeningly deafeningly deafeningly deafeningly deafening He still enjoys adventures like going to the park, but his favorite place to be is by your side. His ideal day consists of snuggling up with some tasty, dog-friendly snacks and watching movies.

“He’ll happily have a Disney movie marathon, eat cheese pizza, and snuggle his people all day on the couch,” the shelter said.

There is never a dull moment in Turkey…
While he waits for his owner, he is being treated with food, and he just earned an award at the shelter’s “Bark-ademy Awards.” Turkey got the Best Actor award. The shelter noted, “The Bark-ademy Award winner for Best Actor warms the hearts of everyone he encounters.” He’s personable and entertaining, and he keeps everyone guessing! Our winner hopes that his newfound celebrity and grandeur would help him get adopted sooner rather than later. He’s had fun playing with another dog at our shelter and would benefit from having a canine companion. He is utterly deafeningly deafeningly deafeningly deafeningly deafeningly deafeningly deafeningly deaf

Turkey needs a fenced-in yard and a patient family to help him adjust to his new surroundings. He may be able to coexist with another dog, but he will benefit from gradual introductions, which the shelter team is happy to help with.
